How To Prepare For Your Lash Extension Appointment
Eyelash extensions are an amazing boost, helping you to look and feel your best every day. So how do you make the process easier, so that you can get the best lashes possible? Here are our top tips for your first appointment, so you can be ready for some beautiful lashes!
Shower prior to your appointment.
-
Eliminating any unnecessary contact with water or steam within the first 24 hours will insure that the bond between the semi permanent lashes and your natural lashes has enough time to properly set.

Arrive With a Clean Face and Clean Eyelashes.
-
In order to get the most out of your lash extension service, it is important to arrive makeup free. Residual oils and makeup in your eye area will only prevent the adhesive from properly bonding, resulting in poor retention. This point needs to be stressed - do not arrive still wearing eye makeup. If you wear waterproof mascara, discontinue use 3 days prior to your lash appointment. The compounds in these products will remain on the lashes, even after properly cleansing.

Remove your contacts.
-
Your eyes will be closed during the application of your eyelash extensions, to avoid any discomfort, it is always suggested that contacts are removed allowing eyes to be comfortable in a natural and rested state.

Avoid Caffeine/Stimulants Up To Four Hours Before Your Appointment.
-
Caffeine and other stimulants (adderall, ritalin..etc) can make your eyes flutter, making it harder for the lash technician to apply the lash extensions correctly. In addition, it can keep you from relaxing and enjoying the appointment.
Dress For Comfort.
-
Keep in mind, based on the type of lash set you booked for, you’ll be spending at least 1.5-2.5 hours lying down, so it’s important to be comfortable. Comfortable clothing will help you relax and enjoy your time being pampered.
Turn Your Cellphone Off
-
Silence your cell phone before your eyelash extension session. While the lash extensions are being applied, your eyes need to remain closed. A ringing cell phone can be a distraction and trigger the urge to open your eyes unexpectedly.
Relax! Just enjoy a bit of ‘you time’! Pop your airpods in to listen to your favorite playlist or podcast if you like, or just doze off! It’s perfectly fine to have a little nap – then you’ll wake up not only feeling refreshed, but also with gorgeous new lashes!
